5/ Once you have an idea of what you need please feel free to contact The Phoenix Centre by phone, in writing or using our Online Contact facility.

We are very flexible and have a good deal of knowledge of about community events, club meetings, seminars etc, even if you do not find what you need please contact us as we may be able to find a solution to your problem or simply direct you to another suitable local venue.

We are prepared within reason to negotiate on rates, for example if you are looking at a long term booking we may be able to reduce the booking fees or waive the deposit.

Rates.

Unlike many village halls and community centre's The Phoenix Centre does not receive any revenue funding Town, District or County Councils, we are fully independent and we have to run the entire Centre from our booking fees alone. We are also fully staffed by volunteers.

We are keen to support both new and existing community groups, we are happy to provide a home to groups serving the local community, rooms can be hired for parties and celebratory events and we also provide spaces for commercial organisations or training providers. We are happy to offer one off hires or enter into long term agreements with groups, clubs or service providers. We are flexible with our fees and discounts can sometimes be negotiated.

We offer three distinct hire rates:

1/ Charity: This is our lowest rate, it applies to local clubs, societies and charities delivering services that benefit residents in the local area, this includes Sandwich and the Parishes of Ash, Eastry, Woodenesborough & Worth.

2/ Community. This rate applies to individuals and groups who wish to book the spaces for seminars, private or community celebrations, award events, childrens paties (under 10's) etc or wish to hire spaces for regular events that do not directly benefit the wider community such as band rehearsal space. This rate applies only to those in the local area, this includes Sandwich and the Parishes of Ash, Eastry, Woodenesborough & Worth.

3/ Commercial and Other: This rate applies to all residents who live outside of the local area, to statutory bodies or to businesses or organisations who aim to run 'for profit' events, this excludes fund raising events.
