The Age of Stupid.

The Phoenix Youth Forum are pleased to announce that they will be screening The Age of Stupid, the showing will take place at 7.15pm on Friday the 22nd of May at The Phoenix Centre in Sandwich, to raise awareness of the climate crisis that the entire planet now faces.

‘The Age Of Stupid’ is the new cinema documentary from the Director of ‘McLibel’ and the Producer of the Oscar-winning ‘One Day In September’. This enormously ambitious drama-documentary-animation hybrid stars Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite as an old man living in the devastated world of 2055, watching "archive" footage from 2008 and asking: why didn't we stop climate change while we had the chance?

Jamie Allen of The Phoenix Youth Forum said: ‘Adults needs to be more aware of the mess that they are creating for us, the young, they need to act  now, by the time my generation have grown to become decision makers it could be too late to avert the coming crisis. Young people need to see this film and change their own behavior and encourage their parents to meet the challenge that we face. We all need to get together and apply pressure on world governments to legislate for change before it is too late for change.

Phil Scott, Phoenix Director. ‘Entry will be free, but spaces are limited so please book in advance. Refreshments will be available, car parking is free, but please walk or cycle if you can, otherwise you are missing the point really.
